Let me begin by assuring you that God loves you just as you are right now. There is absolutely nothing that you can do to make Him love you any less. Romans 8:38, nothing can separate us from the LOVE of God. Because of that love, God sent His Son, Jesus, to pay the penalty of sin that separates us from Him. Although his love meets right where we are, our sin still separates us from him.
"that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the confession is made unto salvation" Romans 10:9-10
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
Salvation is a GIFT from God, meaning it cannot be earned through our own disciplines nor our own efforts. You will accept this gift by placing your faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and choosing to live in commitment and covenant with him and His Word. If you have been living apart from God and he has came tugging on your heart to come lay it at his feet and you have realized that you cannot do this any longer, you are now ready to receive the free gift of salvation and entirely commit your life to Him, you can do that right now, wherever you are. It begins with the realization that you cannot do anything within yourself to set you free but it is only by Jesus and what he has done on the Cross of Calvary that you can be free and also live free.
In order to enter into a relationship with Jesus you must do 3 simple steps.
1. You must admit that you are a sinner in need of a savior and you must ask for forgiveness of your sins. you must cease from YOUR OWN works of trying to accomplish freedom yourself and allow God to move in your heart and life.
2. Most importantly, you must believe that Jesus died on the Cross and rose again on the third day and that he PAID THE PENTALTY for YOUR SINS.
3. Open your heart to receive correction and forgiveness. The hardest person to forgive in our lives is our own selves. This can and will only be done through trusting in Jesus and what he has done on Calvary.
Accepting Jesus into your heart to begin his work in you is the very first step of the process. This is an important matter for every believer. It is a CHOICE that every human, WILL at one point in their lives, have the opportunity to accept or to reject the message. But the next step that a believer needs to take is, discovering how to become more like Christ and growing in your faith which is lifelong commitments.
If you would allow me to do so, I would like to add that there are no particular words or prayer that you have to pray to come into a relationship with Christ. What is most important about this is that you acknowledge your genuine need for a savior and you act upon it BY FAITH, and call upon our loving Heavenly Father for help. Thank God that the bondage and the shame or even the guilt that you have been carrying has been bought with a price and you do not have to walk through life alone anymore. As you already feel... There is healing and freedom that is found only in Christ
It is now important that you get connected with a community of friends/ family of believers who will walk beside you and be accountability partners with you as you learn to strengthen your faith. As humans, we are born into sin and are consistently fighting the desires of our flesh.
